Situation Questions
These are some job interview questions that deal with different situations and scenarios.
- You see an employee stealing from the company. What do you do?
- An employee has just came to you with a problem that has nothing to do with work and would like to discuss it. Do you stop what your doing to help them out or ask them to talk to you another time politely?
- You are asked to complete a project and have been given a deadline to do so but with the work load in front of you, you are sure that you will not be able to ge it done it time. What do you do?
- A project is due tomorow but the day is coming to an end. Do you stay to finish it or possible come in early to get it done or do you just turn it in late since the boss should have known there was no way to get it done in that time frame?
- A superviser has just done something that you feel was inappropriate. Do you discuss this with them or go to his superviser and file a complaint?
- You are going to be late to work. Do you call ahead and let someone know or do you just show up and hope nobody notices?
- You have a desk full of work to do and John down the isle is all done with his and is sitting there with nothing to do. Do you ask him to help or just keep going hoping he will notice and offer?
- Another employee is caught taking undue short cuts to get something done. Do you mention to them that this could hurt him or the company in the long run, bring it to a superviser attention, or ignore it since it’s not directly affecting you?
- You are told that you are needed to work extra hours this weekend but you have all ready made plans. Do you cancel your plans and work or simply tell them that you are unavailable and will need to come in another time?
- The boss ask you to do something that you feel is against company policy. Do you simply say no, tell his superviser or just do it since he told you to?
- You notice that another employee is always making personal long distance calls from the company phone? What do you do?
- You have to take some time off for personal reason but have no vacation to use. Do you explain this situation ahead of time or just call in sick everyday for the next week?
- You get injuried while working but it is just a small injury and a bandage will solve the problem. Do you put one on and go back to work, since it was small it doesn’t need to be reported or do you say something since company policy is all injuries have to be reported?
- Someones personal file mistakenly gets put on your desk. Do you open and view the material inside or turn it in to a supervise immediatly?
- An employee ask for help continuosly and obviously doesn’t know their job very well. Do you continue to help them even though every time you do your work doesn’t get done and you look like you are not getting your job done? Or do suggest to them that they get ask for more training or do you talk to a superviser about it?
