Questions They Can’t Ask During an Interview
Here are some job interview questions that an employer can not ask you during a job interview. If any of these do come up during an interview, it should be a red flag:
- Are you married?
- Do you intend to get married?
- What’s the origin of your name?
- Have you ever been divorced?
- When were you in the hospital last?
- Are you a member of a religious group?
- Do you have children?
- Are you a single parent?
- Do you live by yourself?
- Do you drink?
- How many people live in your household?
- Do you have someone who can take care of a sick child?
- What languages do your parents speak?
- What’s your sexual orientation?
- Are you straight?
- Are you a democrat/republican?
- What language do you speak at home?
- Do you have a maiden name?
- Where does your spouse work?
- How old are you?
- What’s your nationality?
- What are your views on abortion?
- Are you bilingual? (unless job related)
- What church are you a member of?
- Where are your parent’s from?
- With what political party are you affiliated?
- What health problems do you have?
- What were you like as a child?
- Do you practice birth control?
- Do you have any back problems?
There are a ton more, but these are the basic ones they can not ask you during a job interview.
