Dead End Job?
Do you get a sick feeling driving to work every morning? Are you depressed? If you read through the following and these apply to you, you may be stuck in a dead end job or a job that could eventually cause some issues.
- An employee should feel that they are appreciated
- An employee should be paid what they are worth
- An employee should not ever feel bullied or intimidated
- An employee should not be told “you are lucky to even have a job”
- An employee should not be lied to by management
- An employee should not be expected to carry the burden because the company is hurting financially
- An employee should be trusted
- An employer should not look to point the finger
- An employer should not be looking to catch an employee doing something wrong
- An employer should give back to the employee, if it’s a good month spread the wealth to the people who helped make it a good month
- An employer should keep their word if they make a promise
- An employer should not hire family members and friends and put them in cushy positions
- An employer should allow you to have personal items on your desk
- An employer should not have a revolving door attitude
- An employee should never be considered easily replaceable
- An employee should not have to answer to 5 or 6 supervisors
- An employer should not intentionally keep information from it’s employees
- An employer should never talk down or intentionally be condescending to it’s employees
- An employee’s worth and benefits should increase over time
- An employee should not have someone constantly looking over their shoulder
These are just some things to keep an eye out for when starting a new position. Most of these are red flags of issues to come.
