Be Subtle About Your Job Search
Your job search should be subtle. You don’t want everyone at your current employer to know that you are looking for a job.
Lots of people think that if they threaten to look for a new job or go on an interview, that their current employer will get scared, etc. This is not the case, if anything it puts more pressure on you to get a job. What if you tell your boss and go on the interview and blow it? Now your boss knows he’s got you.
Also, even if you have the coolest boss on the planet and you think you can trust him, he will prepare for your departure. In his mind, you’ve already planned on leaving. It will probably get to upper management. Then you’re hosed.
Be stealthy about your job search. Don’t tell other employees, even ones you think you can trust. You’d be surprised how fast rumors fly. Keep your job search a secret!!
